At Potts we specialize in maintaining as furnaces at optimal efficiency and performance. Our technicians use a 28-point checklist to ensure accuracy and avoid mistakes. Our thorough inspection will ensure that your furnace is well-maintained and nice and shiny for the winter months. Below is our routine checklist used at every furnace tune up.
- Inspect proper thermostat operation
- Heat anticipatory check
- Air filter and size inspection
- Check blower motor operation
- Lubricate blower motor if applicable
- Blower belt check if applicable
- Inspect blower wheel
- Clean burners and burner compartment
- Video the heat exchanger with camera
- Check electrical connections
- Inspect low voltage wiring
- Test safety controls operation
- Inspect all drain lines in high efficiency units
- Clear condensate traps on high efficiency units
- Clean pilot assembly and orifice
- Check and adjust gas pressure
- Cycle gas valve check performance
- Use OHM meter to test the hot surface igniter
- Check blowers motor capacitor
- Adjust combustion air if needed
- Record, clean & inspect flame proving sensor
- Record and inspect temperature rise
- Inspect flue and draft
- Use detector to check gas lines for leaks
- Inspect the ductwork
- Record and perform CO test
- Perform combustion analysis including CO Co2, excess air, stack temperature
- Verify proper operation of system
